Forms and Linear Network Codes

چکیده
We present a general theory to obtain linear network codes utilizing forms and obtain explicit families of equidimensional vector spaces, in which any pair of distinct vector spaces intersect in the same small dimension. The theory is inspired by the methods of the author utilizing the osculating spaces of Veronese varieties. Linear network coding transmits information in terms of a basis of a vector space and the information is received as a basis of a possibly altered vector space. Ralf Koetter and Frank R. Kschischang introduced a metric on the set af vector spaces and showed that a minimal distance decoder for this metric achieves correct decoding if the dimension of the intersection of the transmitted and received vector space is sufficiently large. The vector spaces in our construction are equidistant in the above metric and the distance between any pair of vector spaces is large making them suitable for linear network coding. The parameters of the resulting linear network codes are determined. Notation. • Fq is the finite field with q elements of characteristic p. • F = Fq is an algebraic closure of Fq. • Rd = F[X0, . . . , Xn]d and Rd(Fq) = Fq[X0, . . . , Xn]d the homogenous polynomials of degree d with coefficients in F and Fq. • R = F[X0, . . . , Xn] = ⊕dRd and R(Fq) = Fq[X0, . . . , Xn] = ⊕dRd(Fq). • G(l, N) is the Grassmannian of l-dimensional F-linear subspaces of F and G(l, N)(Fq) its Fq-rational points, i.e. l-dimensional Fq-linear subspaces of Fq .

Cyclic Orbit Codes with the Normalizer of a Singer Subgroup
An algebraic construction for constant dimension subspace codes is called orbit code. It arises as the orbits under the action of a subgroup of the general linear group on subspaces in an ambient space. In particular orbit codes of a Singer subgroup of the general linear group has investigated recently. In this paper, we consider the normalizer of a Singer subgroup of the general linear group a...
متن کاملRevisiting the Arabic Diglossic Situation and Highlighting the Socio-Cultural Factors Shaping Language Use in Light of Auer’s (2005) Model
In the field of Arabic sociolinguistics, diglossia has been an interesting linguistic inquiry since it was first discussed by Ferguson in 1959. Since then, diglossia has been discussed, expanded, and revisited by Badawi (1973), Hudson (2002), and Albirini (2016) among others. While the discussion of the Arabic diglossic situation highlights the existence of two separate codes (High and Lo...

Let C be a sequence of multisets of subspaces of a vector space Fq . We describe a practical algorithm which computes a canonical form and the stabilizer of C under the group action of the general semilinear group. It allows us to solve canonical form problems in coding theory, i.e. we are able to compute canonical forms of linear codes, Fq-linear block codes over the alphabet Fqs and random ne...
متن کاملNested linear/Lattice codes for structured multiterminal binning
Network information theory promises high gains over simple point-to-point communication techniques, at the cost of higher complexity. However, lack of structured coding schemes limited the practical application of these concepts so far. One of the basic elements of a network code is the binning scheme. Wyner and other researchers proposed various forms of coset codes for efficient binning, yet ...
متن کاملA Suitable Coding Scheme for Broadband Power-line Communication
This paper introduces three coding strategies for using the Luby Transform (LT) code in a relay aided power-line communication scheme. In the first method, the relay decodes the received packets and re-encodes them for transmission towards the destination. In the second method, the relay only forwardes a random linear combination of its received packets towards the destination, while in the thi...
